Turn the page..........
At 330 this morning the 56th year of my existence will quietly end and the 57th will just as quietly commence.
A number of things have happened over the course of the past year. Some of them were covered in a previous update. Many are still noted on various bits of scrap paper scattered over the top of my computer desk, the kitchen table, the passenger seat of the car, and in the pockets of two or three shirts waiting their turn in the washing queue......ultimately these will find their way to posting. Some things won't be mentioned or addressed until they have passed into memory as having been lived through, adapted to,or coped with.......to do otherwise would be to whine.
I don't have the energy or inclination to make a "that was the year that was" entry out of this.
Tuesday night Cheyenne and I went to visit Casey and family....
Dianne made a wonderful lasagna and Casey made me a birthday cake.
Cheyenne has been out of school all this week for spring break. We have foregone the usual routines and spent most of our evenings doing something besides school work.
Last night as we lay on the floor coloring together, she made me a birthday picture.
I got a birthday card from the law firm that is handling my injury case, and a couple of days later got a check from the railroad for an unpaid vacation day dating back to at least early 2004. The irony inherent in either of these occurances is rich........but it goes beyond exquisite in their coincidental juxtaposition. Of course, if you are less than thoroughly familiar with the back story, the irony is lost.
So, if you are reading this, feel free to leave a birthday greeting...........cash is always appreciated, but I also like books and blow jobs.
I am going to go to bed now and go to sleep.......just because I can.
Thus endeth the entry.........
