It be winter..................

The temperature is in the single digits and the flag at the public library is blowing as straight out from the flagpole as a wedding night prick.

The wind is sweeping across nearly two miles of unbroken cornfield here and carrying with it those lethal wind-chill factors that make believers of the uninitiated.

It's the sort of night that makes rail-roading a manly adventure........that generates stories, told in seedy bars, that rank up there with tales of whaling from wooden ships in the North Atlantic, or engaging in mortal, single combat with edged weapons against naked berserkers painted blue.

It's the sort of night that makes me miss rail-roading......

Thus endeth the entry.

To lauren......I've been temporarily bereft of the internet at home, dear, and have been working out of the public library. I can't post pictures and its a nightmare even trying to keep up with regular posting.
.......but, you cant keep a good man down, (or me either for that matter) so I'll be back with bells on someday.

and to Emmy darlin'...........I'll remember that the next time I read that Denver/Boulder got 12 feet of snow in 45 minutes.....
I got your card dear and it made my day......thank you so much.
You are a sweety......I hope your holidays were wonderful!

Maybe those berserkers were just blue with cold? I know that would push me pretty close to the edge.

Lovely writing by the way, a real treat.
